Guillermo's Number One Fan!

Because some of us need more attention than others, even if it comes from an inanimate object.

Obstacle Course

So, this week I started my second term of Animation Mentor, and my mentor this term is
Miles Southan, but before I start uploading second term material, let me finish posting the work from term 1.

Made last month, the obstacle course take the bouncing ball exercise to the next level. The ball needs to bounce once in a cartoony fashion and then roll as a regular basketball through the course:

That week's assignment also had a body pose that communicate devastation:

Animation Mentor started...

...And this was my first assignment:

Make quick poses sketches from real life.

And translate them into a 3D model (STU).

Just received my first critique from my mentor Victor Navone, and needless to say that I am really excited, and willing to put all my effort in this 18 months program, so I can become a better animator. I most certainly will keep posting Animation Mentor related posts in the future.

Cheers.

Surveyors of Land - Episode 13 "Disaster Truck"

This is the second episode of the web series "Surveyors of Land" created by Clay Ostrom that I have worked on.

This time, a shady new service arrives where Burt, Frankie, and company are working.

Like the previous episode, we went from creating the script, and recording the voices (that was Clay's part) to creating the storyboard, animatic, lip sync, and animations (My part).

For this episode we introduced Miklos, the owner of the food truck "D.I.P.S.H.T.S.". Here he is with the rest of the cast in a size comparing drawing:

Frankie, Burt, Dwayne, Peanut, Ted, and the new character Miklos.

Beside the new character, we also created new assets needed for the episode including a leveling device, the food truck, and different proposals for the logo (made by Michael Loya, our Background artist, and animation consultant):

Food Truck and my proposal for the logo of "D.I.P.S.H.T.S"

"D.I.P.S.H.T.S" Logo proposals by Michael Loya
